Motivation

Motivation... Even a little of it can do wonders to you... Believe me!  Whatever you want, whatever your goals are, you just have to figure out what motivates you.

One of my goals was to getup before dawn, I figured what motivates me to getup before dawn, for the past few weeks, I have been getting up before dawn. Apart from achieving my goal, I get to see the beauty of a sunrise, hear the birds tweet, and feel the morning breeze in my face; Even the bitter black chai tastes so good. There is very little commotion on the streets, seems as though a 144 is in effect except for me to go around! The city looks very different; Streets seem to be wider and longer except that I like to ride on them

Every one of us has goals in our mind to better ourselves. We may not have recorded them, but we have it in our subconscious mind. If you want something bad and find it eluding away from you, find what motivates you, once you have that figured; it’s all downhill from there. May you achieve all that you desire.

Life..

"Life is not the amount of breaths you take.. It's the moments that take your breath away." From the movie Hitch!

All the happiness you deserve!

It's a happy Friday night, the thought that I am traveling back home makes it even happier. Proves to me any day anytime can teach us to better ourselves, we just have to keep our eyes and minds open. You know what they say 'mind like a parachute... works better when it's open'.

I am standing on the doorway of the speeding train gazing out thinking what made us get out of the Jungle and move to the concrete Jungle we call home... Maybe its imprinted deep inside our mind by numerous people telling us its the right thing to do... We never gave it a second thought to try something new... After all we thought, people knew what was good for us..

Suddenly I see a six year old boy with a big grin on his face running toward his father standing next to me.. The next thing that happened shocked me, for no apparent reason I could think of the father hits his son. Perhaps the father had asked the six year old not to run inside the train. All I saw the kid do the whole trip was not to run or try anything new boys his age would love to do and of course no grin this time. Probably an effective way to make the kid do what you tell(force) them to do.
Brought me right back to my conscious thought process... Is this the answer to our question? We have been force fed by society on what is 'good' for us for so long we may have lost the ability to try something new on our own... Something that we love... Something that would make us happy...

I guess we still can wake up and try those small things that makes us happy and better ourselves one step at a time. If we try and do what we can, we will surely astound ourselves with what we achieve!

Breathe... Smile... Take one step at a time to better ourselves. May you achieve all the happiness you deserve :-)

Trivial Questions in our life..

Why am I not Tall / Short / Fair / Beautiful? or Why am I not perfect?
And then some more, the list seems to be endless. At some point in our lives we may have come across one of the above question. There is only one straight answer, In Mother Nature’s own way, each and every one of us are created unique, there is No right or wrong, we happen to be a result of the sum of all the coincidences that have happened.

What possibly can we do? We know the answer; look at the less fortunate and draw inspiration from them, look at those who suffer from incurable diseases, look at those who don’t have a home to go back to, look at those who don’t have a family/friend, look at those who are handicapped, we are fortunate enough than we think we are. Use this opportunity to help yourself and those around you who are not so fortunate.

Remember even if you are not responsible for your situation, YOU are responsible for your reaction to it.

If only we had ...

Avatar - watched it countless times, watching it again(writing this assuming you have watched it:-))

Neytiri and Jake have met, and I’ll not bother with the details. Jake starts to follow her and at one point the seeds of the sacred tree starts to rest on him, Neytiri thinks it’s a ‘sign’ from their great mother takes Jake to Hometree, Now we all know how it ended up for the whole of Na’vi.

‘See it through her(Neytiri) eyes’ – Grace tells Jake because he is so focused on collecting Intel and experiencing his new found excitement(legs) as Colonel Miles Quaritch(The guy with the scar) promises Jake that he will walk again if he gathers intelligence from the Na’vi. This plus excitement of the new experience through the avatar, has made him so focused.

‘I see you’ – we hear Neytiri say it aloud more than a few times and later by Jake too.

I think that we all miss the signs around us every day/each moment, as there is so much clatter going on inside our mind, and we are so FOCUSED on what we want, we really don’t stop to see what we have, appreciate it and also see the signs all around us. If only we had seen the signs...

When was the last time you stopped to see the other person’s perspective, we are so full of ME we never stop to see it through the other person’s eyes. If only we had seen it through their eyes...

How many times have we REALLY seen what the other person has done (for us), how many times have we really appreciated it out loud. If only we had seen the other person and appreciated them for what they have done...

Good old Park Bench... My First Blog :-)

Today, I inquired a friend of mine about her vacation and asked her to share the pictures, she asked if I was her friend on Facebook, I was surprised to see myself respond back asking if I was her friend (out of Facebook) her response was 'yes I think so'.

It made me think consciously (most of the time I feel our subconscious mind makes all our decisions for us :-)) about the people around me who are so focused on social networking sites,

Are we really interested in our 350+ friends?
Can we not close a single day without sharing our status?
Can we not take a picture without thinking if it could be our next profile picture?
Are we losing the ability to make friends in the physical world?
Are we slowly but steadily losing interest in the people physically present around us?
How can a loved one compete for attention while we get likes, Pokes, messages from 300 odd people whom we never meet?

I have a few hundred friends in my Facebook account, I don't remember how it grew but I surely feel a nudge inside when I see 300+ updates everyday be it in the morning or in the evening makes me wonder what will happen to the good old park bench.

P.S. Ironically I had to publish this in Facebook ;-)
